Joy's Consignment Policies
Why Consign With Joy's?
Family-owned and operated since 2002, Joy's has built a base of exceptional customers and consignors. The Happy Canyon Shopping Center is an ideal location from which to serve the entire Denver metro area. Joy's has over 10,000 square feet of attractive showroom space. We take only what we can fit and only what we can sell, allowing for an uncluttered, attractive collection of home furnishings.
Our inventory moves quickly! Joy's provides retail space, advertising, and a professional design, sales, and warehouse staff. We also contract the services of All the Time Movers, making the entire consignment process fast and easy.
Our Consignment Process:
1. Evaluate Your Items
We ask that consignments
be clean and ready for the showroom floor
(making sure your pieces are cleaned, vacuumed, polished, and dusted
can make a big difference)
be free of pet hair, stains, and odors
have no rips, tears, or damage to the finish
have no broken parts or missing pieces
Our job is to sell your items, so we look for furniture that is currently in demand:
please reasonably evaluate your pieces, especially in regards to whether a piece is too dated to sell. We do not accept mattresses, bedding, or pier units and only in exceptional cases do we accept china and glassware. If you're uncertain about whether a piece will sell, ask!
Joy's reserves the right to refuse a consignment for any reason.
2. Pre-Approve Your Items
Before you bring your furniture or accessories to the store for consignment, please contact us. We prefer to view pictures of your items before you go through the time and expense of hauling them.

We will respond to your email as soon as possible and appreciate your patience.

3. Pricing
The rule of thumb for pricing consignments is 50% of the original retail -- no higher. Joy's may price items lower than half of retail, based on realistic pricing for the current market, the condition of the piece, and our experience in what sells.
4. Pickup & Delivery
You may bring in your pre-approved items during the following times:
Monday-Friday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sunday 12:00 - 4:00 pm
If you require a pickup, please call the store to make arrangements.
Our Contract
Our contract lasts 90 days and Joy's splits the consignment price 50/50 with the consignor.
A 20% markdown is taken every 30 days an item remains unsold.
The consignor has the option to donate or to pick up items when the contract expires. Consignors are asked to pick their items up within a week of the items going out of contract. Due to the high number of consignors, we are unable to call when your items reach the end of their contract. Please keep track of your items! After this seven days, Joy's is no longer liable for items not picked up and we will donate the item to a charity of our choice.
Checks are mailed on the 15th of the month following the date of the sale. We do not trade or issue store credit.
